My Personal Training experience at CLHC has indeed been a positive one, I'd like to explain if I may. Last year my husband and I joined CLHC, it was expensive for us but very convenient as it is close to home. Being in our fifties we were both feeling our age and felt the need to work on our level of fitness or lack thereof. I have never been a gym member anywhere before and seeing the big room was very overwhelming, so I spent a few months doing time on the treadmill and bike in the women's only area. I got to the stage where I was bored but challenged enough to want to do more and try different things...but what and how? A friend recommended the trainer who had helped her and the timing was right so I signed up for 6 training sessions. This morning I was in to the club early. I started with some cardio to warm up, did a full upper body workout with weights and some machines, more cardio to finish then a shower and off to work feeling refreshed and ready for the day. I love it! I have gained knowledge, understanding and a confidence in what I am doing. Having the trainer to guide, inform and encourage me has made a world of difference to me, in fact had I not begun the training sessions I question whether I would still be a member at all. I am a new member and just wanted to tell you just how much I appreciate being a part of CLHC. The people/venue and equipment are beyond measure. The first person to whom I spoke was Marvin. As my first contact, he was terrific. My second contact was Erin. Not only does this young lady possess infinite talent, but personality as well. My third contact was Will R., one of you personal trainers. That young man could not do enough for me in getting me started on the equipment. He has been so patient/understanding. Finally, I must mention the ladies at the front desk. The only name I can remember (age does that to one) is Sharon. I never arrive without a "hello", or leave without a "goodbye". I was a little skeptical in the beginning; however, the above mentioned individuals have allayed any fears that I might have had. I actually eagerly anticipate my time spent at your club. I will have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending CLHC to others. No doubt, they will enjoy it every bit as much as I do.

It’s been a few months for me and now the workouts are getting tougher… That’s because I can handle more now. The trainer I work with is very careful to not give me too much, but just enough to push me to the next level.

One of the best things that’s happened to me is weight loss. I know I’ve been there before, but this time with one eye on portion size and the other on exercise, it’s just working. I’ve lost over 35lbs since June and haven’t felt like I’m missing out at the dinner table…you view things differently. If I choose to eat more than I should, I translate that into hours in the gym to burn it off. It’s a different way to look at things. I’m not denying myself, I’m just doing the work to keep myself on track. The pro’s at Columbia Lake Health Club don’t expect perfection. They expect effort and reward it.
