Fitness Classes
Our fitness classes are fun and designed to not only motivate but also keep you challenged as you burn calories quickly and safely with these exercise workouts.
We encourage our instructors to create their own unique fitness programs, this provides variety in both the music and the delivery - you won't find these classes at any other gym in Waterloo!
HEALTHY YOU CLASSES:
Healthy Moves – Get moving, grooving and burning calories with this class. It features fun, safe and easy to follow cardio training exercises designed to boost your fitness level while improving coordination and flexibility. (45 minutes)
Cycle 1 - Begins with the fundamentals of cycling and features cardio training plus calories cutting intervals withy adequate recovery periods. You'll peddle through energizing music while improving your endurance and increasing physical stamina. (45 minute class)
Building Better Bones – Focused on balance and strength training for individuals with osteoporosis, osteopenia and low bone density. (45 minute class)
Zumba Gold - The beginner's level of aerobic dance which breaks down the step-work of Zumba. It's perfect for anyone just starting out in Zumba fitness, or those who prefer a lower impact workout. (45 minute class)
Intro to Yoga - Flow through simple poses while you focus on easing your breathing, extending your flexibility and expanding your mind for enhanced training and fitness. Learn basic concepts, sun salutations and energetic locks. Leave this class feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. (60 minute class)
Intro to Pilates – Learn the five basic Principles of Pilates and build a strong foundation of exercises required to move onto the next level. Emphasis will be placed on breathing and body awareness paving the way for you to develop leaner, longer looking muscles, establish core strength, the foundation for achieving better fitness and heightened mind-body awareness.
Wave 1 - Ever wonder what this equipment can do for you? Come out and join this easy to follow class that will prove to be very effective as an aerobics workout and for strength training. The best part is – no coordination required and there is no impact on your joints. (20 minute class)
CARDIO CLASSES:
Cardio Kickboxing - Improve your endurance and cardiovascular fitness, tone muscles and shred your abs with routines built from punches and kicks. This high energy class is non contact and sure to get you fired up. (45 minute class)
Cycle 2 – For intermediate cyclers, this training and fitness session promotes increased intensity and cardio training opportunities. Greater emphasis is placed on speed, strength, endurance, and balance, with our instructors dedicated to helping you with performance visualization and achieving a more complete cycling experience. (45 minute class)
Cycle 3 - Emphasizing power and explosive techniques, this cardio training segment is for the experienced rider. This fitness session will be looking to increase workloads for longer periods of time, with less rest. The established cyclist will find this guided challenge helpful in developing strength training and speed. (45 minute class)
Trekking - It's virtually impossible to get bored during one of these treadmill classes. We've added the cardio intensity of hill training and speed play plus free weights. Trekking instructors place a big emphasis on techniques for preventing injuries and you can go at your own pace. (30 minute class)
Wave 2 - Take what you learned in basics & step it up a notch with the Wave 2 fitness class. Burn calories 3x faster in this high energy, non impact workout, designed to work your entire body. (30 minute class)
Zumba Dance Party - Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system that will blow your fitness away. Come and join the party and dance your way to a new you. (45 minute class)
STRENGTH CLASSES:
Strength - This total body strength training workout has co-ed appeal. Ramp up your core strength, muscular endurance and body confidence in a workout that includes dumbbells, body bars, your own body resistance, bosu’s, stability balls and whatever else we can get our hands on. (45 minute class)
Core Condition – Having strong core muscles keeps your body stable and balanced. This class will help you with strength training for your core muscles - hips, lower back, torso, abs, & shoulder blades - leading to reduced lower back pain, improved posture and a leaner physique. Make your body more fitness ready, more resistant to injury, & more balanced. (30 minute class)
CARDIO & STRENGTH CLASSES:
Boot Camp 1 - Join us for the best fat blasting workout ever. Two minute intervals of cardio training and weight training rock your system, keep your heart rate up and your muscles powered for maximum calorie burn. This is the ultimate low impact total body workout. (45 minute class)
Cycle & Strength - Get the best of both fitness worlds in this cycle class and strength training trip. Challenge your cardio vascular system on the bike, and then head upstairs for weights to burn fat and tighten and tone your whole body. (30 minutes cycle, 30 minutes core)
Boot Camp 2 - The best fat blasting workout with more challenges! Boot Camp 2 offers intervals of cardio training and weight training to rock your system, keep your heart rate up and muscles stimulated for maximum calorie burn. Once again, the ultimate total body exercise workout!
NEW! Trifit 20-20-20 - Enjoy three of your favourite styles of class all in one. Featuring Step, Cardio, Strength, Cardio Kickboxing or Core this class delivers the benefit of three workouts in one.Wave Circuit - The ultimate whole body circuit training workout, you’ll learn new tricks on the Wave and whole body resistance exercises.
