Scott Lynn

My name is Scott Lynn and I grew up in Etobicoke.  I have always had a keen interest in physical activity and sports throughout my life.  I was heavily involved in competitive hockey and golf growing up and played on the varsity football, golf, hockey, and baseball teams in high school.

After high school I was recruited to join the Queen’s Golden Gaels football team as a quarterback, which brought me to Queen’s to do a dual undergraduate degree (BPHE/BSc) in Physical & Health Education and Life Sciences.  After several injuries, I decided to give up football and joined the varsity golf team.  I had always played competitive golf during the summer in the Ontario amateur ranks and I ended up playing on this team throughout the rest of my undergraduate studies and continued through the early parts of graduate school and eventually became assistant coach. My graduate work (both Masters and PhD) was in the area of biomechanics (kinesiology).  During graduate school at Queen’s I was involved with teaching a variety of undergraduate courses including Biomechanics, Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Nutrition, Statistics, and the golf practicum course.  I also worked part-time in both a fitness and rehabilitation facility doing exercise prescription for a variety of clients from the frail older adult to the elite athlete.

I am currently continuing my education as a post-doctoral fellow in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo.
